Hey TW! I just recently got new wheels installed with .1mm offset, and 4.57" backspacing. My tires don't poke out as much as I wanted them to. I'm thinking about putting spacers behind them as well. Maybe .5"/.75"? Any thoughts here on this?

Will this be too much stress on the bearings? Admittedly have done a lot of research but am not too well-versed in these specs for spacing tires. Would any spacers behind these wheels be too hard on the bearings? Or only the really thick (i.e. 1.5"+) spacers?

Any insight here or recommendations on thickness for spacers would be appreciated! I've attached a picture of what they're at right now.

spacers are fine when torqued down correctly just like lugnuts. they can cause clearence issues up front. this is a truck by truck basis with lots of factors. lift, tire width, etc... the change in leverage up front does put more stress on things. but, if you like the look and do your own maintenance its no big deal. i do have a set of four 1 1/4" spacers to part with. 80$ shipped if youre interested. that being said ive spent thousands on mine experimenting. if 80 bucks is worth trying out a mod let me know. id be happy to share all i know. cheers man!

You will want hub centric spacer that have studs built into them. The thin plate ones won’t work properly. I believe.75 is the smallest spacer but your wheels need to have recesses between each hole.

This is great info. Good to know! I’ll have to check my wheels to see if they have divots between the holes. If not, what’s the solution? Grind the studs on the spacers down?

You will need a thicker spacer so the studs don’t stick out.

Makes sense. So I’m guessing the studs are a standard length then. So once you get to a certain thickness of spacer, they just don’t show

1 1/4" spacers bolt right up covering the factory studs. then bolt the wheel on. hub centric just means it makes the wheel sit centered on the hub as if it were factory.

For me, spacers are a function-only-if-needed item. I've run them on another marquee to create brake clearance after installing a set of wheels not designed for the vehicle.

My personal preference is to not use them for appearances only. It's just another piece of hardware that's not needed.

Of course I'm not a poke fan either, due to mess and potential damage to the side of the vehicle. But if I wanted poke, I'd pick wheels that created it, not create it with spacers.

Keep in mind these are just my opinions. Others will think they are the cat's meow.

Yeah...after this thread, I’m thinking about maybe just getting wider/bigger tires to make it look like it pokes out a bit more. I have 265/70/r16s on right now. 3” suspension lift and SPC Adjustable UCAs. Thinking about going to 285/75/r16s once these crap out on me. Just don’t wanna do too much trimming.
