Being the "fleet" model, it didn't have any fancy packaging, but it was packaged very well. Can't wait to get it installed and tested!

The first thing that sort of surprised me is the antenna extensions. They are hollow and slide over the cable that is permanently attached to the canister. They will definitely have to be installed before the antenna can be (if you plan to use them).

    PM sent.

As a reminder, please do not post the discount amount or promo code publicly on the internet (TW or elsewhere). Failure to adhere to this, can result in getting the group buy closed prematurely.

AllTechSource.com is giving us a generous discount. Almost double the discount of any other vendor that was approached. Please follow the rules so that it doesn't ruin it for everybody else.

I almost bought this last night. The deal is great but honestly, I cannot justify it long term. We don't go remote frequently enough, device use should be within 36" of the in cab antenna, and it would be a nice emergency item but we go out to ditch most of the tech toys.

With that being said, if we're stuck and somebody saves our rear with this, I'll be grateful. Ha ha. For those buying it, would it be used mostly on adventures or do you live in an area with weak signal everywhere?

If you buy, don't forget to register with your wireless carrier.

I'm in the same boat about getting away from tech, but this isn't just for camping. I drive to visit family pretty often and there are several stretches of highway where I don't have signal...or at least not enough to make a phone call. In most cases, I know it is there, just not strong enough to be used. So I'm hoping this makes it useful on those stretches. You know, so I can listen to Pandora, a podcast, or an audiobook without having to download it first. It'll just have added benefit if it helps when we are camping. Again, I go camping to get away from tech, but emergencies to happen.

What's this about registering it with your wireless carrier? This is the first I've heard of that. I think that might apply to home signal broadcasters that connect to your home internet, but have not heard of needing to register this mobile unit (that is carrier independent). Can you please elaborate?

Sure thing. I'm mobile now so I'll post links.

Download install guide, review page 13, follow directions from your carrier (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T).

Interesting. Thank you for pointing that out.

The "Signal Booster" link on the Sprint page redirects to T-mobile and basically says that they need the address of the booster so that they can determine signal interference. This seems as though it would make more sense for a home unit and not a mobile one. Unless the signal booster broadcasts some kind of unique identifier, how would Sprint/T-Mobile even know where it was in use?

Shit. I had a brilliant reply ready to go but my VPN didn't allow draft auto save.

From my research: FCC has rules but few citizens follow them. One website equates not registering the booster to running a red light at 2am...

LOL. I'll probably register mine, but I don't want to be blamed for signal interference when it will rarely if ever be used at my house.

I will probably wire mine up to a switch so that it isn't powered on full time, but can be powered when the vehicle is off.

I still haven't installed mine (Drive Reach OTR), but I did take some measurements on the cable lengths for those who might be interested.

    External Antenna: Approx 15'
    upload_2020-11-4_9-31-13.jpg

This is long enough to go from the back tailgate to the front of the front tire on the 2nd gen Tacoma.
    upload_2020-11-4_9-32-27.jpg

    Internal Antenna: Approx 10'
    upload_2020-11-4_9-34-11.jpg
I didn't have the other end fully secure, so this was as tight as I could pull it without the antenna moving.

    Power: Approx. 14' overall.
You get about 10' after the inverter and about 4' before the inverter.

I've wondered that if once you get to your campsite, can you hotspot off a phone that is getting the boosted signal? Not the ideal way around the 36" limitation but it may be an option

Thats precisely one use case that I have in mind for this or if you have a mifi hotspot using that instead.

Still debating if it's for me. Definitely a decent discount, but still pricey for something I wouldn't use on a regular basis.
