Got a lot of stuff lol
They came in Lexus ls400s as well as sc400s. I got mine from a friend that's doing a 1jz swap in a sc400 for a drift build. It's amazing how many 1uzs are at the junkyard as well.

Couldn't agree more. 2UZ in my truck would be about perfect.

Agreed, especially with the e-fan. The only thing I can think of is that they didn't feel they had developed one reliable enough yet, but that's merely a guess.

Man I’d be happy with the 4.0! Funny enough I had a 4.0 jeep Xj Cherokee and a 4.7 grand Cherokee. Weird how the displacements match Tacomas!

Guys.....respectfully...do some thorough research on e-fans and e-power steering.

Yes, they would save about 1-2 Hp each, possibly 1 mpg total. The truth is there are bigger more impactful methods to increase fuel efficiency.

The primary reason these won't save the big numbers is because the power needs to be generated from something, IE: the alternator. This would require a little bigger alternator, thereby consuming some of your savings.

The biggest fuel hogs are friction drag and aerodynamic drag. Have you wondered why most late model cars have generally the same shape......aerodynamics.

It's way more than 1-2 hp. And yeah electricity doesn't come from no where but it's much more efficient to produce the electricity to drive an efan than running a standard mechanical one. Watch the engine masters episode on it.

    Can you quantify "..way more..."

    Is it 5 Hp? 10? 20?

E-fans are more efficient as they only move as much air as needed, and only when you need it. See here for proof, he's selling kitss now too.

It depends. Going from memory its between 7-10 when clutch not fully locked and when the clutch is fully locked at high rpm as high as 30. Hotter it is the more power its going to sap.

I sort wonder how perfect your fuel economy would be. Both tundras i had with the 4.7 couldn't pass too many gas stations.

Can't be much worse than the 3.5 turning 35's on 4.88's.
Fuel economy kinda went out the window already.

Getting 13-15 mpg on average would suck, ...it what my 4.7 consistently got with a combination of city/highway especially during the winter. At least it was pretty decent for a v8 when towing my trailers on the highway averaging 14 or a bit better.

    I get 14 on average.

I don't complain too much considering DP is a pig.

I owned a few Hemi Rams before my first Tacoma. I think I cried real tears the first time I pressed the gas pedal in the Tacoma...how depressing.
