Picked my set of the NGK’s down the road at the autoparts store, wasn’t a problem at all.

For anybody with troubles finding them and maybe considering an alternative and by using the Denso IKh22, according to the Nasioc forums there is no difference interms of performance between them and the NGK’s. However, it was noted that the iridium pad of the Denso is smaller and tend to foul quicker and also makes it more fragile to knocking the tip off more easily. 1st choice would be the LFR7AIX but if nothing else the IKH22 are a good second choice.

Which intercooler did you go with again?

I cannot find any detail on your intercooler model, plenty of tread stones pop up in the thread though.

I can tell you my personal luck with the Denso's in a supercharged gen. 2 was poor. I tried 2 sets and neither lasted 12,000 miles with the fine wire center electrode eroding rapidly on all plugs not a specific cylinder.

Def beneficial to hear those things from 1st hand folks. Weird, I have used a couple sets now for over 5 years and going and no issues. I have the NGK’s for the Snail kit this time.

When I had my ms3, I initially had densos on my initial turbo upgrade, and they got fouled up really quickly. Went with NGK one steps when I went big turbo and built bottom end and they lasted way longer.

Haven't been driving it much, sitting in the garage until I have time to address some things.

First one is the drivers downpipe. I knew it was a close fit to the steering column but after putting some miles on it, it's now making contact. To the point it's shred through my heat wrap and I can feel the vibration of the motor in the steering wheel. I'm afraid any longer duration and it could wear a hole in the D/P and/or transfer unwanted heat up the steering shaft. So I'm going to pull it, weld up a jig and cut the section out that's hitting. There is ample room closer to the block so it just needs a tighter sweep or bend at that location, and weld in a new section.

Second is white smoke out of the exhaust. At first I thought it was just break in oil and extra crap off gassing. But..it still remains:(. I've talked it over with mat and we feel it's an oil return not draining properly. Truck still drives fine, and the oil level is fine...but the smell gives me a headache and is more of an annoyance.

Initially I thought it was the passenger oil drain. As you can see in the pic it drops under the trans with a slight kink, then has to go up hill a little into the oil pan.

So I rerouted the lines with new push-loc hoses and swapped drain inlets so each side would have a proper angle for gravity drain.

Unfortunately it's still puffing white smoke. My next plan of attack is to pull the turbos and re route the oil return completely with newer hose. I have a feeling coming off the turbo the black HPS hose is getting kinked somehow. It's pretty soft and when it gets hot can make it even softer. IMO it's more for intake/vacuum/heater/etc. I should have ran HPS FMK lined high temperature from the start which is much more rigid and I'll have peace of mind because it's rated for oil/gas.

Last resort is the oil seals, which I hope didn't go out as it being brand new turbos. We shall see. Isn't custom stuff so fun!!!!

Turbos are extremely reliable but the one thing they do need is a steady flow of clean engine oil with that kink I’d be checking the turbo housing for cracks.

Don’t forget any oil blow by coming through the exhaust will stay in the muffler for a bit until it’s burned off. Maybe try taking the exhaust off and giving it a good scrub or test with another exhaust to confirm the issue persists. I had that same issue with my EFRs and took FOOOORRREEEVVVEEERRRR for the smoke to clear out. Other issue but doubtful is the turbos aren’t getting enough oil. Oil pressure regulator from turbosmart could help.

Wanting to make some extra cash, leave that jig up when your done and weld others? I would love to just get mine rewelded prior to install. I’m guessing you’re still hitting where the drivers side downpipe is purposely bent? Hopefully that’s just fixed on batch 2.
