Yeah. Stock or modded, esp modded, sound good to me.

Our Forester had a neat little intake rumble between the time that the Bank 2 cam sprocket and ECU was replaced to the time when the Bank 1 cam sprocket and ECU was replaced. LoL! It came and went.

Maybe the bottom end on mine was gonna let go (it happened) I got rid of it when the MT grenaded all by itself. Fun and I got a good $ back on the thing.

Sounds like OP has a diesel engine in his tacoma
Try to put diesel fuel next time at gas station to make it sounds right

That might explain it. The goodwill seems to be strong with Subaru? It sounds like they helped you? We got some with both of the cam sprocket problems.

No help. They wanted to screw me. Toyota gave me $20K trade in on my Taco!! Hahahahahaha The WRX was $29K, last hatch, had to order it. Just ordered at the deadline, then wait 5 months or so. Sucks no more hatch and the reason I bought it. But just was not a keeper

That does blow, but at least the trade was good.

The new WRX could have been a contender for me if it came in a hatch. The older, unmolested ones were hard to find and expensive just like used Tacos. I am happy where I ended up.

I actually don't find the motor too loud, however, I did dynamat and soundproof the doors and back wall of the cab. It made a huge difference in cabin noise and it is a now a lot quieter than my wife's Lexus IS250, especially on the cold rolled pavement that seem to be popular around here. I had originally intended to pull up the carpet and dynamat and soundproof the cabin floor and headliner, but after doing the doors and back wall, the cabin is so quiet I haven't found it necessary.
