    I bought a set of TRD headlights yesterday, and failed to notice there is a broken tab. Am I screwed? It’s right below the turn signal.

    seems like it is a tab of some sort? If nothing else, maybe I’ll attempt a BHLM myself if this is too bad.

    Hmm. It’s an attachment point that slides into the bracket on the truck. It does help set the headlights in the right orientation but might be okay being it has three other mounting Point locations. Might be a little flimsy and shake a bit while driving?

    Damn, I was hoping it didn't matter.. I got a really good price, so I'm not too hurt over it. Like I said, maybe these become my sacrificial lights for the BHLM. Thank you for the response!

    If anyone else would like to chime in with "Nah, you're fine! Toyota likes to put extra plastic on everything!" feel free....

    Damn.... I guess my dreams of a Toyota engineer with a plastic fetish are ruined....
    Other than that they are in good shape. My fault for not looking closer.

    I got dealt the same hand as @Puppypunter — does mine have enough meat left?

    I don’t want to do a full retrofit just to find out it’s not gonna work.

    Might be enough? Not sure how much tolerance that small section will handle and, how much integrity has been compromised. Better than a full break off though... might also break off with the small amount left. Too many variables to account for on stuff I don't know that much about.

    @no vtec 4me Thoughts?

    I hope it's enough because the chances of finding someone selling a passenger side only for something less than $1,000,000 looks pretty slim. Check out this guy:

    I’m gonna go ahead and say that’s missing too much material. Even if it works you’ll be hanging by a thread most likely. Try fitting it on the truck before modifying it to see.

    can you build that up with a 2 part epoxy stick and sand/drill/modify it as needed? Or make a piece of plastic somehow and go to a local car paint supply store and buy some automotive bonding agent to glue it on, they make some kick ass adhesives now a days.

    Your best bet (short of replacing the whole housing) would be to get a busted headlight on eBay that still has that tab in tact. Cut it back to a nice clean spot, and plastic weld the donor piece on. I’ve done it quite a few times and they’re all floating around on different peoples trucks with no issues!
