I just got my 33's put on yesterday (285/70/17 Ko2) and it required more than I thought. The problem was my SCS rims. I got the F5's with the -38 offset and that extreme of an offset brought the wheel out, and put it right in the way of everything. I ended up needing to do a CMC and trim off a bunch of plastic because, with that offset, the rear of the wheel bumped right up against them at full lock. Also my 2.5in lift (already lowered to a 2in with the added weight of my BAMF offroad bumper and a 2nd battery) wasn't high enough, so I had to swap out the front springs on my Fox 2.5 RR's with 700lb springs, and then added some Dobinson's blocks under my 3-leaf AAL in the rear to level it out. I haven't measured it, but its probably now closer to a 4in lift.

It looks sweet as hell but, if i were to do it over, I'd stay away from the huge offset wheels. Try to stay close to the factory backspacing and you should avoid most of the "exta" stuff I had to do, i.e. higher lift and CMC. Also, large offset wheels are apparently a bitch to balance, especially with off-road tires (first place I took it to straight gave up trying).

TLDR: 33's w/ only a 2.5in lift is doable, but not with a large wheel offset.

I've got about a 2" lift and am looking at 33's I'm also just about to buy SCS F5 16 -25. Given your experience do you think a smaller offset either 17's at -10 or 16 at 0? Is the better call?

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I have the SCS Ray10 -10 17 inch, with 285 70 17 so not a true 33 inch tire. With a 2 inch lift it takes some work but it’s not bad.
0 offset will make it a bit easier but -10 is no big deal.
Having good aftermarket UCAs helps, and going to an Offroad shop that knows how to do wheel alignments definitely helps.

33x12.50 plus a 6 inch lift shouldn’t require any cutting right? -12 offset Fuel Vectors.

Sorry, just realized this is in second gen forum, mine is a 3rd gen.

i had a LOT of rubbing with wildpeak 265/70/17s. But none with other tires, tried ultraterrains, and now i have cooper. Tires will NOT ride without steering shake on my truck. 3 different sets now.. still wobble. Tried 6 different shops. different wheels. no luck. but. Had to remove the mud flaps and do significant cutting on the front plastic. im now running 265/70/17 in a cooper at3 4s. Considering a little bigger, but trying to stay light. and i cant understand why they all jump to E rated if you do a 275.. its irritating. Looking hard at going to a at34s 255/75/17

Eibach Pro Stage 1 on 2nd clip, 3 leaf Icon AAL's in back.
Changing to 285/70/17 will net you 1/2" of ground clearance and less than 1" in width.
If that is worth it to you go for it. But be prepared to do all those things you really don't want to do.
I'm needing new tires this spring and am still on the fence if I am going to go to 33"s or stay.
