This is very interesting. I bought a 2010 Tacoma Double Cab at the end of August. When I took delivery I immediately drove it to service to have the SC installed. The put the SC on the truck but could not get the ECM to accept the reflash supposedly because of some conflict with the recall that was done for the sticky accelerator where they reflashed the ECM with a brake override. They said I have to wait until the end of November when they will release a NEW reflash that will solve this conflict. I am in a loaner car until then and I have Toyota paying my car payments until I get the truck back. Also made them throw in an extended warrently since the clock is ticking and I am not even driving the truck. Now that I read your post about having the SC successfully installed on a 2010, I am wondering why they could do it on yours but cant on mine. Was the recall performed on your truck for the accellator/brakes prior to having the SC installed? Any information you can provide would be useful so I have some ammunition when I call TRD back to find out whats going on. Thanks.[/quote]

Ya was worried about having a re flash issue also because when I was researching it before I purchased some guy's said they had some problems with the factory not having the re flash for the 2010 model. So I asked the dealer about it and they were reluctant to do the install because the kit did not show availability on there site for the 2010s yet. However they got a hold of toyota directly and found out it would be no problem. They did not run into any issues with mine besides the install taking longer than expected! I believe they did the gas pedal recall right after the supercharger install. I gave them the recall paper at time of S/C install so I can't be a 100% sure it was before or after, probably after tho. Hope this helps.

Thanks Glitch for your response. That sounds right because I was told that the SC reflaash would work if done before the recall. I even tried to have toyota swap out the ECM with a new one that didn't have the recall done (the regional toyota field tech suggested this) but apparently this causes legal issues because the federal gov't has records of my VIN having the recall performed therefore toyota cannot sell me a new ECM that doesn't have the brake assist reflash. I am now at the mercy of TRD R&D, waiting for a new program to be written, tested, and approved by the federal gov't. They promised it would be available by the end of Oct. But I will believe it when I drive off the lot and log a few thousand miles with no issues. The only upside is the fact that I am driving a brand new camry for free while they pay my tacoma payments until this is resolved. If toyota had done their due dilligence prior to selling me the truck and let me know I had to wait for the SC, I would have bought a 2011 and just waited for that SC to be released and I could have gotten the color and options that I wanted but had to sacrifice so I could get the SC right away. I will let you know when I finally get the truck back. Thanks again for the info!
