No probs or anything like that .. New rig and all ....
My wife's cousin is here deer hunting and he wanted to see my new truck. He has a 2010 Taco.
Under the hood, he noticed 'Oh! You have the 'red' coolant' ..
    I hadn't even noticed yet.
Now I knew that there was a newer 'orange' coolant, which from what I understand was to prevent corrosion with the increasing amount of aluminum parts on engines .. OK, I can get that ... But had no idea about the even newer 'Dexcool' coolant.
So after a Google search and reading a couple of articles ... It's still pretty muddy as to any reason .. REAL reason ... To the switch, like as one being more 'corrosion proof' than the other, OR if one (Red) just being more environmentally friendly (As in not killing yer dog if they happen to get into it..)
The one thing I got out of reading was basically 'Don't mix the green/orange/red' ...
Anyone have advice/info on this in an un-confusing nutshell? (Other than just 'Use what came with it' which I plan on doing anyway..) Just curious is all..

The orange coolant you're referring to is a GM product.

I guessing you're right ... My wife had an Old's Bravada about 10 years ago (Biggest POS I ever bought ... Don't get me started on their crapptapular 'Vortex' engine..) and it had to have the 'orange' stuff .. I just thought it was kinda' a 'New & Improved' across-the-board thing. Eh, WTF do I know .. LOL! Kinda' why I'm just asking questions... ;)
