ok i love the mats dont get me wrong had em for a few years. took them out today and washed them for about the second time. they are nasty slimy sticky all over especially the bottom. what gives? its almost a greasy substance like plastic degradation just curious has anyone else experienced it.? maybe wrong section but this is still my review. id buy another set in a heartbeat incase anyone is wondering. these get used and abused daily. have been since new and have held up to everything put to them.
    2014 4 door here.

I’ve had weather tech in my Jeep for the better part of s decade. No such issue. Maybe clean the more often. Have you spilled anything? Are you walking in any petroleum substances?

I've had WeatherTech in a few vehicles and never had this issue. Is it possible they have been cleaned at some point with something they shouldn't have been cleaned with?

You think something could have gotten underneath them?

doubtful as noone really sits in passenger seat. it wasnt just like an area it was the entire bottom of each one. this is literally the second or third time washing them I never noticed before. kind of weird.

pic at first is before washing. on top it was the edges. bottom was whole surface.

Same problem with the emblem, but never had a sticky substance. I’ve had mine since new, about October of 2014, so our materials should be the same if they had any changes. Maybe they weren’t rinsed well after using dawn. Did you use the siphon of the washer? We’re they completely dry, if not maybe it cased something in the carpet to leach out?
I keep saying I want to contact my body shop. Last time I had work done they detailed my truck and got the mats looking brand new, I’m talking jet black just like they were molded. Even with a pressure washer I can’t get that newness back, always have that dirt tinge. Now, I just rinse and throw back in after dry

I bought some used back when I had my 4Runner. They were also greasy and sticky on the bottom. I don't know what caused it, but I can say goo gone, dawn dish soap, degreaser... none of them even got close to removing it. Good luck, hopeful to find the remedy soon haha
