My 2013 Tacoma came from Oklahoma and they do not require front plates. My front plate holder is missing and can’t seem to find one that looks stock. Did they come with the truck originally? Any suggestions on where to find one appreciated.

There is a member that makes a pretty cool front plate bracket. If I needed one I would go with it. I think you can just do a search on here and it will probably come up.

Cruise around to different parking lots to look for other Tacomas. See what they did.
Or slide into the local Toyota dealer, see what they can offer.
    Or Amazon.

The state where I reside requires front & rear plates. I just got a set of bumper mount screws with the 4 square connectors. These are similar to wall anchors. Cut 2 square holes in the bumper matching the size of the connector. Press the connectors in, installed plate with the screws. The anchors expand a little to lock into the bumper. Cost was less than $3.

Front plates on the second gen just screw to the bumper. There are small divots in the bumper marking the hole location.

I live in a state that only requires the rear but puchashed the truck from a state like yours. Now I have no front plate and two ugly holes in the bumper. Id try to get one of those mounting deals like post #6 or some option where you don't have to drill into bumper. If you ever sell it the next owner might appreciate it

Not sure how picky they are in your state, but in mine they prefer the numbers face the road, not the engine. Lol. Of course, I live in MA, so.........

why on earth would anyone want a license plate bracket? they're just free advertisement for whatever dealer you bought the truck from. are people afraid the edges of their plates will get scuffed? just screw the plate into the bumper like every car prior to the mid 90's.

Some states mandate a front license plate, and some people don't want to screw through/into the body panel directly. If my truck didn't already have the front drilled in for the plate when I bought it, I would have used a bracket too...but then, I'm weird like that.

I got my plugs at bumperplugs.com. A little pricey but worth it.

I second @ACEkraut if you need a front bracket. I also didn’t want to screw into my bumper and never have on any car that I have even the pre 90’s one

Thanks for the picture... they are expensive (30 buck for anyone interested) but I guess better than a few holes

I do make and sell them. Yell if you have any questions that I can answer

Thanks for the mention! The picture you found is actually of the 3rd GEN bracket I offer. The link below goes to the 2nd Gen sale thread.

Thanks for the mention! You are correct, dealers drilled into the bumper directly without any bracket.

The picture was from a TW member who let me use his truck to create a template for the 3rd GEN in exchange for the first new 3rd GEN bracket.

They are pricey! Some have visited their local hardware store and bought plugs pretty cheap and used color matched touch up paint to paint the plugs.

    Thanks for the mention!
