Oh yes, it get in the 70s for water temp. And to be honest, the iceboating is far more fun that soft water sailing. The acceleration is freakin amazing when you get hit by a puff.

By the looks of it, you're close hauled 100% of the time. Apparent wind is always on the nose, yes?

    Yes, i imagine so.

Of course, dual trapezing with the chute up on an International 14 is pretty wild as well. And when the bow gets buried and the boat slows, and you swing around the bow, at least the water landing is somewhat soft. :)

Yes, unless tacking or jibing, you pretty much have the sail in as hard as you can pull it. If you get in a booming hike, let the mainsheet out about half an inch.

I used to race Nacra 6.0s, they were pretty wild too. I got out of cats before they came out with chutes, I went into A scows, which are a completely different beast!

We were out practicing last March before Transpac in the bay. It was cold and wicked up. We were sailing the 125 with our Transpac 5 and sailed up under the north tower of the Golden Gate Bridge. We set up the a2.5 as it was in the low 20’s tws. Tacked and set the kite, moments after the set a huge puff rolled down the headlands and forced the bow under. We accelerated to 24 knots and had blue water up to the boom. Off we went like a rocket ship, at one point we were passing a Golden gate ferry. Went for the gybe at Alcatraz and wiped out.

best boat I have ever sailed on.

Dude called it "soft water sailing". Never thought of it that way. Too funny!

A friend of mine did it on a 70 with some friends. I think the boat was Mr. Bill. Do you know any of the Wisconsin sailors?

You guys get to play on some big boats! We don't get much of that on our inland lakes.

Racing to Hawaii is something everyone should put on their bucket list. I have done it 5 times and want to go every year. 8 days on a 41 footer(125) and just 10 days on a Moore 24.

I watch this couples YouTube channel and was surprised to see a TRD PRO make a cameo. Skip to 14:40 if you just want to see the truck.

It's nuts. I knew two guys in their early 20's who raced double handed on the Moore 24 to Hawaii. They also raced a Hobie 33 double handed to Hawaii. Young, and very good, sailors. With support from their parents. Though one was already running a North Sail shop. Very talented.

boat shopping in the winter! Hope i get a better deal!

Looking at selling my hunter 22 and moving up to a capri 25, for better racing. Going to suck more for casual weekend cruising, but ill just have to do some more races to make it worth it.

Probably going to check it out in the next few weeks.
