    Good Day Everyone,

I just purchased a gray 2021 TRD off-road double cab and one of the first mods that I'd like to do to make it stand out is something with the hood. My buddy who told me about Tacomaworld pointed me to the hood swap thread but he's been waiting quite some time with no luck. I checked with the dealership and a new installed painted sport hood would run me somewhere around $1500. Before I spend that much on a non functional scoop, I wanted to see some different options I could do with the stock hood because I don't necessarily HAVE to have a scoop, just something to make it look different.

I googled some decals (basically center of the hood is black and says "TRD offroad" on the edges) that I like but my past experience with decals haven't been the best in the Texas heat. If I were to do something like that, I would rather have a body shop paint it on so I know it wont crack over time. Has anyone done anything like this on theirs? I'm located in Houston and saw a thread on aftermarket hoods from revauto but for what they charge, I might as well just get the OEM one. Are there any other good looking aftermarket options? I'd really like to do something custom with my stock hood (so it'll stand out more) rather than buying a new hood (not against the idea for the right hood at right price) since the truck doesnt even have 300 miles on it yet and again, I'm not sold on a scoop by any means but I just feel like it's missing something when I compare mine to a sport or a pro. Any feedback will be appreciated. I would post a picture but I'd rather do a few mods first instead of a bone stock truck LOL. If I do paint the hood with some kind of decal/stripe, I'll likely paint the roof to match as well. If I end up with a scoop somehow (nothing stick on), I'll put a lightbar in it so it's not completely non-functional :)

Here is an option of vinyls you can use to help make it stand out. It's not necessarily on the hood but it's on the grill.

I have these decals on my hood and matching on the bedsides. I live in MN, so we dont have the same heat as you, but we have the cold. They have held up pretty decent, there is some cracking though.

Nice subtle heritage nod. I’ve been thinking about doing something for my roof. I have a Gobi rack up there and it’s really hard to clean under, so I figured if I cleaned and waxed it, then had a full roof vinyl laid down it would help protect the paint.

For OP, search TW and you’ll find lots of vinyl hood optima and designs. A couple members here do custom work.

I have been thinking of doing my roof also, maybe next year I will when I replace my 3rd brake light.
