U joint too tight?

I am trying to replace my u joint on a 2005 regular cab tacoma with over 400k miles on it. About every 100k the u joints fail and need to be replaced. Autozone brand worked fine before, but this time none of the u joints I've tried fit enough to freely articulate the time. I've tried autozone, spicer, moog etc. They all fit too tight. I even let a friend have a go at it and same results. Anybody else have this problem?
