Have so much to do today waiting on Saturday to do my

So my dad gave me a couple of his chainsaws because he no longer uses them. Hes just a couple miles away now and I provide him with all the firewood he would ever need.

One of the saws he gave me was my goto when I would help him around the yard in high school. Its an older ms018c. It hasnt been used in years and I couldn’t get it to run strong; would sputter out after a bit. Well, I had brought it in and they got it running like a top.

Had it sitting in my shed for a couple days, and I come out to see a big puddle of bar lube under it. Extremely disappointed, I spent last night trying to diagnose what the issue was. I narrowed it down to the oil line. Being an older saw, Stihl no longer makes parts for it, as was confirmed by my local dealer.

After some googling, I confirmed the oem part number and was able to source an aftermarket oil line that is supposely a direct replacement. Psyched that this thing gets another life. Because of its size, I plan on bringing it on wheeling trips.

Its so much lighter than my ms-362 c-m. But each have their purpose. That 362 is a friggen beast.

Monday again already....

Half the week should be nice, the other half wet....but hey, better than snow!

 

I guess it depends on what your doing ! I will be hunting as much as possible.

 

I'll be cleaning up down trees and scrub brush, and cleaning the edges of our fields with a walk behind brush mower.

This is the time of year I don't leave the house for the woods without bright yellow or red gear. We don't let people hunt our property, but that doesn't mean people don't hunt parts the property anyways

 

There are definitely people out there that should not have a hunting license!

Happy monday guys! This weekend I did some off roading in the Pine Barrens of Jersey. As a New Yorker, it pained me a bit, but we had a ton of fun. Got a little wet, too. I sunk my truck deep enough to get water in through the door seals... Twice. Thank goodness I was with some awesome people who jumped into action right away. And the first time I was given the advice "Hook up a tow strap and throw it in the bed before you go in" so that I could climb into the bed without getting wet. Fortunately it was close enough to dry land that a buddy was able to jump into the bed and get it squared away for me.

That was the first time. The second, we were following some powerline trails and I was driving at the tail because I had a radio. Everyone was dodging puddles, but I was having a blast hitting all of them. I got cocky, and hit one that was too deep. Fortunately my front was close enough another friend threw on some mud boots and was able to reach down into the water and get me hooked up. The sun was very close to setting (The pictures below do not do justice to how dark it was) and it was pretty scary. Fortunately, as I said, I was with some great people

Thanks man! Forgot to ask in my original post though, anyone know why my starter might be acting up now? It seemed fine until I cleaned my engine bay (Although I may be misremembering) but now it either sounds weak, or doesn't start until I hold the key for a few seconds. Is there any testing I can do or is it just time to replace? As far as I know, it's the original, 15 year old starter
