Looking to pickup som new tires with the Black Friday deals coming around.

Trying to decide between 265/70 Wildpeaks or 255/75 Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S.

Any real reason I shouldn’t go with one or the other? I would like the extra little height from the 255/75, but the 265/70 are more economical since the truck is my daily.

Mainly I just don’t want to do the CMC until I’m ready (read: I only have the cash for tires right now, not new suspension and CMC) , and I think 255/75 would still fit.

Also, the 255s are 8lbs lighter.

Oh I should also add, I’m running stock sport wheels that have the +30.

Between those two you really can’t go wrong both great tires. I would go with the coopers because there lighter

That’s the way I was leaning, purely due to the weight.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
The Discoverer won an Offroad tire shoot out a few years ago, its tread may seem tame but it climbed rocks really well.

There is a moderate jump in price between those two.

The 265/70 Wildpeaks are 158 now (On rare occasion they get as low as 120, I bought mine when they were 125). The cooper discos are $200. That's a total cost difference of 180-230, depending if you buy the "protection certs."

(If the truck is your daily, you definitely dont want the E load wildpeak. Go with the lighter SL tire.)

    Alright final question:
Certificates or no certificates from discount tire? Are they just a sham?

I chose not to buy them this last go around.

It's a gamble, just like extended warranties. Drop 100-130 now on the bet that your tire will be irreparably damaged during it's lifetime, against the 200 it would cost to replace.

And just like extended warranties, you will occasionally have to replace shit that breaks, but long term you will eventually wind up saving money if you don't buy the extra protection.
