Hey everyone, I posted on some of the FB Tacoma pages but I'd probably get a quicker response here. So my left rear bottom shock mount roached right off the axle. Now I understand that there is a relocation kit but I dont want to go that route. Reason being that the relocation kit I sought out only uses Kings shocks. Them mofos are expensive. I'm not trying to got that route. Is there bottom brackets that I can have welded on and keep using OEM shocks or Blisteins since I'll be having that work done, I might as well get all four shocks mounted too. Please help, also just a daily driver, no lift here....

That’s rust cancer. Wouldn’t spend money fixing that without making absolutely sure the rest of the frame isn’t totally compromised. And unfortunately for you, it probably is. Unless you got it replaced with that lawsuit

I think he meant, with the axle looking that way, the frame might not be any better. Before dumping money into it, make sure the frame is ok otherwise its all a lost cause.

cut off the top stud nut with a sawzall and take off the shock completely, you can still drive the truck without the shock but keep in mind not to drive it like you stole it

Relocation kit doesn't ONLY use kings, its just that that's all they tested it for.

Shock mounts can be had on just about any offroad parts/fab website to burn on yourself. That said, if those tabs rusted off, I'd be willing to bet most of that axle tube (and maybe frame) is cancerous as well.

Is there any frame left to weld?

Frame has been replaced, what rusted off is the bottom mount on the axle.

You can get a set of weld-on axle tabs from Ruff Stuff these are the ones you'd need: https://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/R1653.html

You can set the correct distance and weld them on. Assuming the rust cancer hasn't eaten so much of the axle tube that it has any wall left for welding.

Or you can get a set of the bolt-on tabs I'm making, which will work and do the same thing without any welding.

That would be advisable based on those pics.

That's impressive that they didn't inspect the axle and see that rust. Those hangers are pretty substantial.

ETA: I'd start by going back to the dealer who did your frame swap and see if they will replace the axle. They shouldn't have let you leave with it that rusted.

After you fix it, start a fluidfilm or woolwax regiment. Keep that replaced frame nice.
