I have had a short one for almost four years now and haven't had any issues. It makes it wayyy easier to change the oil.

Agreed! I usually rotate the tires while the oil drains. Anything I can do to save a little screwing around is worth the $$ to me.

Yes, but you won't be able to do much else while watching the jug fill..........

Oh well, you guys use your method, I haven't seen enough advantage for me to shift my oil change process.

you do your own oil changes. You save lots of time as it cuts the time easily in half.

It doesn't take much time to pull the drain plug out. I'm more interested in the convenience of not getting a handful of oil every time. I was just wondering if there was an actual financial advantage.

I'm totally on board with the time = money concept, though!

I rotate the tires while I drain the oil. The Fumoto valve won't affect this, but it will make it less messy and more convenient.

While the risk is probably extremely low, the benefits are even lower. I'll keep on removing the drain plug

I had one on my Tundra for years and years without issues. I've had my current one on my 2016 Tacoma for five years without issues as well.

I for one...am definitely too lazy to undo the bolt. And contrary to popular belief, laziness is also the mother of invention. So I got the fumoto, and on top of that @05Taco4x4 was able to drill/tap threads onto an all metal version of our oil filter cap. So I've also got a fumoto on that now to :). Completely mess free. It's beautiful.

If I am lazy I just use a topsider to suction out the oil through the dipstick....

Fumoto valve works great. No risk of knocking it off the oil pan. Makes oil changes a breeze.

No risk? That makes zero sense. Of course there is always risk. With a skid plate risk is minimal, without a skid plate, risk is real.
