I just bought a ADD Honeybager bumper for my tacoma and I was wondering if you had to cover the light bar if it's installed in the bumper?

Technically, yes. "Off road only" is probably printed on there somewhere.

In NC, as long as you're not operating the off-road lights on a street or highway then you're good. As far as covering them for protection purposes, I think the lenses are designed to withstand bugs, pebbles, and other little things on the road. I would say that is a choice that is up to you.
