What is the height (floor jack max lift height) needed to remove tires on a 95 4x4?

    This work (20% off too)?

The real question is what size tires ??

Wooden blocks work great to extend the height of your jack.

I have never had good luck with those rapid pump jacks

any jack will work if you are jacking from the axle or lower control arms (which is the preferred method).

I have an older 3 ton(iirc, it's all faded I cant tell anymore, lol) craftsman floor jack, and a few HF 12 jackstands. If I need to support on the frame (for suspension work) I just jack up by the axle, remove the wheels, and lower the frame onto the jackstands.

No real need for a super tall floor jack.

Now, if you're off roading and need to jack it up by the frame for whatever reason, and you like using a floor jack, get the extenders.

I have both the yellow version of that Daytona one which is big and sturdy and the 2.5 aluminum jack on my bed cage for the trail. Both will do about the same - sometimes you'll need a wooden block or two if you're drooping out your truck, but I can't remember what I needed before putting on longer travel suspension - get some good jack stands as well to have at least two things keeping your truck from making you into a mancake.

I have the yellow Dayton and it has the greatest lifting distance of any floor jack I could find. I prefer to jack at the frame.

yeah, just jack from the rear axle/control arms and any jack will work fine. You don't need extenders if all you're doing is taking tires off.

I used to have a little 1.5 ton jack I used when I needed two jacks for whatever reason. That would lift my rear axle off the ground no problem with 32" tires.

I mean, if you think about it, even if you're running 44" tires, a jack that extends 22" will still lift it off the ground from the axle since the bottom of the axle is probably only 20" at most from the ground.

The 1.5 ton aluminum jack works fine lifted with 33s, just put it on the control arm

Stock height, stock tires, with the 1.5 ton on the crossmember won't pick the tires off the ground

I had your exact truck and the 1.5 ton jack

That 2.5 ton should work fine on the crossmember

    I have this one now

    20201020_151405.jpg

I use the axle nut socket to get it above the highest notch of my jack stands but as you can see lifts it up decently high

Excuse the crooked bumper I havnt gotten around to tightening those bolts

With the yellow Daytona I can lift up the front from the x member with a 6" block which with the extra droop from my suspension and 35" tires probably means you would only need a single 2x4 if anything at all for 31's and stock suspension.

Following this thread... I need a jack to put on winter Blizzak /steel rim set up and then take them off in the spring. I don't need anything for high volume use. Everything is stock on my '15 Tacoma. What jack would some of you recommend. Will this one fit my needs?

    Not really. I mean, probably?

But this would be a lot better: I had one like the little one you linked to, but it was never my primary jack for my truck. I'd use it on the wife's car or for doing axle/suspension work and needed a 2nd jack. I finally busted a couple years ago and I just haven't replaced it yet.

I also use the factory bottle jack as well for some things.

Is it safe to add the extension/riser to the jack for added height?

    Is it stable?

My question exactly, it's gotta be with these 3rd rate companies selling modified hf jacks for rediculous amounts
