    2 part question here:

I just took home a brand new 2021 taco a week ago. Tonight, I noticed a slight bubble in one of my tire side walls. Hasn’t even left the pavement yet.

    1) thoughts on the size of it? You all think it definitely needs replaced?

    2) there’s a chance I just missed this taking delivery and it was there before I bought it. Do you think a dealer would make it right out of good will and stick a new one on there? Don’t know if it’s a stupid thing to bring up to them or not...

Needs replacement. Whether the dealer does it or you do it, it needs to be replaced

Take it back to the dealer. If they are factory tires they will replace it while you wait.

Take it to dealer for replacement. Most reputable tire brands have a defect warranty of the first 1/32 of treadwear as well so it should be able to be swapped out with no hassle.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll call them tomorrow and see if they push back on replacing one hassle free. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t being unreasonable with a dealer.

    I’ll share the results when I’m done:fingerscrossed:

Mmm...just because he's the customer doesn't mean he's not unreasonable.

Iv seen bubbles on sidewalls and most come from impacts such as curbs and/or potholes..... some never know how it got there

Sidewall bubbles are defects. Tire replacement shouldn’t be anything but a waste of time waiting for the repair.

Yeah that’s my understanding on where they come from too. I’ve been babying it for the week I’ve had it, so not sure where I’d have done it ‍♂️ I’d like to believe it was there from the beginning and I just missed it taking delivery.

Well he can be unreasonable. But asking for a replacement for a warranted item isn't unreasonable.

To be in the safe side of things and be proactive about it. I’d definitely take it into the dealer ... a replacement will be needed

What brand tires are those? Guy I work with had a blowout in the sidewall 3 days after he took delivery of his 2021 OR. Then to make matters worse his new truck had the window busted when someone stole his gun only a week later.

Call the salesman you dealt with, tell him/her/they/them the issue, give your salesperson the tire specs and let the salesperson get you sorted and scheduled for a replacement. If the salesperson is good they will get it taken care of and scheduled asap.
