    Anyone have good contact of somebody who can do sand blasting, want to fully sand blast axle housing after cutting off everything before painting it.

    When I did my first set of 60'S, I took the housing to a tractor trailer place, can't remember where it was. It was done outside.

    Now there was blast material in everywhere even though I had the diff cover on and rags in axle tube. Be prepared for that.

    And of course new inner axle seals.

    Paid 100 bucks back then.

    @Shveet
    So I’ve seen guys use silicone spray to help get the the rubber lines/hoses back on for fuel tanks after lowering them. A bit of residue like that isn’t uncommon. If it’s dripping tho... I would say take it back. It might be the tech didn’t do a proper clean up after the recall? A lot of brands pay the tech such a low amount for recalls so some just don’t care to clean it up because they’re already loosing money on the job :bananadead::notsure:

    As an aside, how can Toyota screw something up and then make their dealers fix it at a loss. That seems unfair

    Every carmaker does this to varying degrees. Toyota isn't the worst. But yeah it's one of the reasons some techs move from the dealerships to indie shops.

    I should add my warranty experience is with European brands for the most part. For warranty paid jobs the tech is paid a certain time that the manufacturer deemed worthy. Say for example the manufacturer has a group of their techs do the job 3 or more times in a row. They take the shortest times and then average it out and then use that to what they pay the tech who is actually doing the job at the dealer. In some cases techs loose out on warranty paid jobs because of the flat rate pay structure and try to cut corners or hack jobs out. Or in other cases the tech does the job properly and has done it multiple times and is now able to make the warranty time if not beat it. Manufacturers don’t want to loose any money at all, they don’t care for the most part if the dealer, not even the dealer, the tech looses out. They do warranty audits just to make the money back from dealers not doing their paper work properly lol.

    Is the pictured set of steelies your winter tires? To get the TPMS light off with both summer and winter tire sets without having the reflash the ECU every season, you'd want to purchase programmable TPMS sensors and have them "cloned" with the same IDs as your summer tires. See the last option in the opening post of this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...i-e-winter-summer-street-off-road-etc.257388/

    Bring it to Ganaraska, we're putting it to the test of dragging @Norilsk up that one snow bank that he failed to get up :^)

    I have 6112's and still use the stock lowers. The uppers were upgraded because of the lift.
