Don't you hate that? When it's not clear if the qty is per package or not and you end up with more than you might need in three lifetimes?

I wish that was the case, but I'm really just and idiot. Totally my fault.

No big deal they will take the return if I want to, but I will loose out on shipping. So I figured if someone can use them locally, might as well help a buddy out.

With the new tires. The original ones had no foam and sort of held air. I figured that's probably why the wore out so I put the foam in these.

Unfortunately I don't remember what brand it was, but it's got metal diffs. Something like Krawler??

I found some of the axles that were on Ebay and they are Komodo, which sounds right. That lead me Komodo and figured out is the Komodo Rocker.

Any thoughts on going brushless vs brushed? Currently using a 15T brushed motor.

A buddy has the Redcat Gen8 Axe Edition. The motor and ESC is pretty cool and it seems to crawl good. It uses the HobbyWing XERUN sensored AXE system.
    https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/pro...ystem-for-rock-crawler?variant=18644949303411

It runs OK now but there are a few things I don't like
    • Sometimes it's slow to switch from fwd to rev
    • Top end is not stellar, not that it shouldn't be a trophy truck
    • Reverse is really slow
    Things I do like,
    • Very finite control at low speed
    • Inexpensive and easy to replace
I'm not sure if I have motor envy or if it's worth it.

    Thoughts?

What happened with the Redcat that lead to such a fate?

My son broke more parts on it than it was worth unfortunately.
He will be paying for this one and hopefully learn how to respect his stuff or just have broken things.

I’m running a sensored tekin 3100kv roc412 and a tekin rx4 in my bomber. It seems to be a pretty good balance between the two styles of control. The sensor wire was a must for crawling and a programmable esc was a big help for the fwd-rev response.

Went camping w/ a friend this weekend and he brought me a TRX4 he borrowed to mess w/. I totally wasn't interest. 5 mins later, I bought it off his friend he borrowed it from. I've already got a Range Rover Classic body for it I have to paint and assemble. I've done wheels, tires, and small stuff to it this week.

Nice I've been looking at scale rigs. The problem is they are all good. The Traxxas, Vanquish, SCX 10 II/III are all in the mix.The other problem is they are all a paychecks worth of toys. ;)

Yeah, I paid $250 for the Traxxas used and I had $250 sitting in my venmo so technically it was free right? But to your point, I've spend more than 250 already on batteries, chargers, wheels, tires, etc. It is very expensive.

Best advice I can give for this hobby(which I didn’t listen to) buy as you need not as you want.

That doesn't work really. Who would NEED a 1/10 scale RC crawler? I don't NEED the $20k worth of shit on my real truck. So yeah, that logic won't work for me either.

Well I finally justified buying my Losi Lasernut yesterday. Got to chase away a coyote at the park my kids were driving their power wheels at. My wife hates the cars but loved them at that moment. Was pretty fun chasing it down.

I keep telling myself I don’t need more and mod/drive the ones I have. Hard when there are so many types and they all do different things. It does get expensive though, especially bashing with all the breaks.
