A limb fell on this guy (2010 TRD OR) and I was wondering what the process (if any) of fixing it would be. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the best damn Tacoma forum on the interwebs :hattip:

You can try to straighten it out or just replace it. I would look around your area for a junkyard that let's you remove parts. Find the same year and color and have at it. If you add some ditch lights you'll barely notice the hood.

With the labor charge I suspect would be involved at a body shop, you would almost certainly be looking at having them do what @RobP62 suggests above, and adding a few hours of labor. If you DIY that second option you're probably looking at the most cost effective fix.

If you want to repair it yourself, you will enter into a world of dark arts, hole drilling, tripod rigging, chicken bones, and screw-pressing action.

Oh, and a brief edit to add that I'm not trying to be ominous, or anything - it's actually a relatively simple DIY option to source and swap that body panel. Our trucks are really easy to take apart, and a couple broken clips here or there are surprisingly inexpensive for quality replacements.

Let your comprehensive insurance pay to have a body shop fix it.

Did the A-pillar get damaged? The fender is easily replaceable, the corner of the hood can probably be worked back into shape (if not then hoods are easily replaceable too). A-pillars, not so much

    It can be fixed.

    I wouldn’t fix it. I wouldn’t try a DIY.
Why? Because it would be MY truck.

I’d probably take a dry erase marker and write “A limb fell on it” with arrow pointing to it.
That way, the question is answered before it’s asked.
I’m not too worried about looks, I’m more focused on “dependability”.

If you do want to fix it, I’d let some one else try.
Insurance or out of pocket. Hard body lines like that are not to easy to get out.

What's the deductible on the comprehensive portion of your auto insurance? Generally speaking, I don't think a comprehensive claim raises your rates. I'd pull your policy and have a look.

I’d probably leave it as is and not worry about it. But you also need to come up with an exciting story how it happened. Grizzly bear and great white shark come to mind.
