Mini toy hauler 5x8 cargo build

So, I have had many trailers, M416, Home built, & tent. This should be the last one (for awhile). I bought a 5x8 cargo, but ordered it with 30" longer tongue, side windows, roof vent, & a straight axle In less than 24hrs of purchase started modifying. First thing was remove paneling and install insulation

 

Next was add some expanded metal to the tongue.

 

You should match the rims and tires to your truck. It looks cool when people do that. Cool build.

Todays progress, mounted the fuse block, started the propane bottle mount, and mocked up the disco lights & Tacoma wheels.

Curious how the wheel adapters worked out for you. I’ve got a 5 bolt setup on my trailer I was thinking of converting to match the taco but sourcing the right hubs for this axle has been an issue so maybe adapters.

How does the addition of the adapter play with the wheel/fender? Is the offset/backspacing on the taco wheel such that it mitigates the additional width of the adapter? Or is that why your fender is removed and you’re fixing that by moving the fender outward?

Adapters hub centric by chance?

Bought these on Amazon, these have the proper thread pitch for Tacoma lugs, seem pretty stout & perfect fit. Be aware though, on the inner piece that mounts to the trailer hub, I could only get a 3/8 drive socket in the countersink area (tight fit) https://setgroupusa.com/collections...on-5-lug-car-2-inch-thick?variant=31586770439

Tires (Outside) sit about 13" away from the trailer now, new fenders on their way, old one too flimsy & skinny

 

Got a little more work done, Passenger side fender 90% done then I got sidetracked.

But this just showed up today, decisions, decisions

 

Got two walls done, the carpet really gives it a "Done" look. Held off on putting the Ironman lift on, have to focus one project at a time.

Lil' more done today, still have to cover the wall behind the cubby, insulate & cover the roof, and mount the folding bed.

 

Fabbed up some cross bars (Too cheap to pay $200-$300 for some bars) Mounted a rack & awning, then messed with the bed a little

Whats the weight capacity of the roof? Thinking of going this route but with a roof top tent. Looks great so far.

 

I have no idea, for the roof itself its just a thin layer of aluminum mounted to a square tube frame. I bolted my cross bars into the square tube frame on the sides, do not know the weight limits of that either. I do not plan on putting anything heavy on the rack, don't want to raise the COG. Best bet is to contact whoever built your trailer, but they will probably discourage mounting anything to the roof (Liability reasons)
