It was my dealership that I was thinking about out loud when I saw that. Long story but I wouldn't let them service a pedal car!

 

Installed Rago Lower Control Arm Skids. I spent more time getting the plug out of the front of the control arm for the bolt than I did actually installing the skids. I just need to cut the bolts down a bit.

 

Got new tires on Tuesday, 295/70/17 Mastercraft Courser MXT's



And my little grill badge came in today so I threw that on before heading to work

 

You must have done a lot of driving in reverse. That adds tread and brake pad.

I had my 2016 at the dealer for 2 free oil changes and 4 warranty issues. Every warranty issue their Master Tech argued nothing wrong until I sent videos to Corporate that the heretofor Master Tech ended up fixing under warranty. With the exception of a potential recall I am done with dealers. I would not trust them to replace a gas cap on my truck because I fear it would be screwed too tight onto my tail pipe.

Hi peeps, does anybody know where to find a cheap rail cap 2016 long bed Tacoma. Anyone gonna install the OEM tonneau cover I can do a trade. I already have the cutouts on both left and right caps. This is for a longbed. Check out picture.

 

If you install a header rail (front rail), it might line up with the trax mount holes AND bring them up just enough to get them out of wedge.

I used carriage bolts straight out from the rail:

Yes, I live in Vancouver Canada. The area closest to NW Washington State. The block heater was installed as in a few years we will be moving from our life long home with a mild coastal climate to the southern interior of our Province where we currently have a small cabin on Rec property. Winter temps there average -7c (19F) but overnight temps can dip as cold as -20-25 (-4F) on occasion. Conversely the summer temps can spike to 41c (105F)!

So, the block heater was maybe a little overkill for our future home as most gassers are fine in cold temps. However IMHO, on those really cold spikes it will be worth having the ability to plug in. I already have a 110 outlet on the outside of our small cabin. I also purchased an additional 10m (32Feet) OEM cord like the one in the photo. I plan to keep the 6 footer in the cab of the truck and the 32 footer at home. Never had a vehicle with a block heater before so i will see if it's going to be worth the $500.00Cdn I payed to have it installed. As far as I could see they did do a nice job of installing it at the dealership.

Yes, your diesel would benefit more with a block heater in cold temps. But as you say a pain if you are away traveling and have to plug in.

It was almost required with that little diesel especially after it had to be changed to steel glow plugs from the ceramic ones. I can say it really helped that engine start better when it wasn't polar vortex weather in the winter. I'm sure it will help the gasser up there. It will warm up faster too.

I kinda miss the quirky little diesel but I'm very happy with the Tacoma.

 

Has anybody mounted the truxedo under tonneau box in a Tacoma?

 

Cleaned up the bed a touch and installed the swingout storage box.

Anybody close to Pigeon Forge? I need some HELP. I am in a rented cabin near Pigeon Forge. 100 yards from cabin cannot get to cabin for slick leaves on road, pulled to the side so not to get hit from someone and cannot get back on pavement , just sitting spinning on top of leaves. I am in wife's Explorer. Anyone close to me ? Thanks 352-279-6961

 

More on the fuel pump recall for my 2018. In addition to the dealership requiring that I come in with an empty tank, they are now requiring that I remove bed racks, bed stiffener, molle racks, etc from the bed. Has to be returned to stock. I assume they have to lift the bed to get to the fuel pump?

 

I got my lift kit installed on my 2021 Tacoma TRD OR.
