    Hi There,

I'm working in an automobile manufacturing company. I'm looking for some industrial forging suppliers that provide forged parts for automobile companies and have found one. I would like to know what documents and processes are required when we transfer our contract with one forging supplier to another. This is the first time that our company is transferring the contract. What should we discuss with our new forging supplier? If anyone knows, kindly share your thoughts here.

    Thanks!

God, I hate to say this. But get an attorney to review the current contract. Then exit the old contract, in accordance to that contract, and issue a new one to the new supplier.

Yes, get the legal team involved.

It should be like sourcing any other vendor you use.

Verify their entire system of manufacture. Process control, material control, incoming material inspections, product inspections, document control........ On-site inspections with a cross-function team. The team at minimum should include engineering, purchasing and quality departments.

Run a few sample lots through the potential vendor. Then validate the parts with your systems. Don't drop your current supplier until you have qualified the new supplier. Its a good way to jump from the pan into the fire.

    Good luck.
