Here's mine. I have quite a bit stored there especially since it's now my gym since COVID but still like to leave enough space to get around.

Another vote for pegboard. Free up some wall space with a floor to ceiling bike rack. If that isn't enough hang some of those basket organizers from the ceiling.

My little garage is messy as hell but you get the gist. :anonymous:

If this was my garage I would be set. Switch out the door lifts for side mounted to free up vertical space and unclutter the garage. My one garage requirement is my wifes car has to park in it every night so our two car garage works for car storage and workspace for me. All of my tools fit the dead space and my woodwokring stuff neatly packs away into the other spot a car would take up. When I want to go do stuff I just move the car out of the way, open up shop, and go to town.

Yep. I had that at the old house. On my side of the garage, it varies depending if I am riding / driving. Also, the ball doesn't help at different angles. Our lot shape has us turning into the garage, so there is too much variance with the hanging ball.

Beyond that, the hanging balls were annoying when doing anything in the garage.

    Thanks, though.

Alternatively, build a custom deck and you can have 18 inches of storage under the car. That would be a game changer for DIY oil changes.

That is our Christmas tree box. It is a bit bigger than our old tree / box and weighs about 110lb or so. My test was hanging off the boards when I installed them 12yrs ago. Also, it is lashed to the roof truss above it. I am pretty content, even with earthquake worries.

I rigged my hanging ball so it's down when pulling car in but then it retracts up into the ceiling out of the way when the garage door is lowered.

These are old pics but you get the idea. I try to get everything I can up and out of the way.

That's pretty cool. Still, hanging balls just don't work in our situation.

No issues getting it to fit in my garage. I do wish I had more room. Got rid of four of my kids power wheels to make room for the third car to fit.

My 2 car garage is a wood shop, but everything is on wheels so I can get a vehicle inside to do work.

Here’s what I came up with for bikes. There are 2 larger hooks that provide a pivot axis and then a smaller hook by the handle bar is rotated (1/2 turn or so) which allows the bike to hang down.

Really quick and easy to get the bikes up and down by twisting the smaller hook a half turn and then lifting the bike to/from the larger hooks at the wheels.

My ceilings are 8’ so I can do this without a ladder.

Y'all need to hop on Youtube and watch the Psicobloc series. One of the walls is in PC, and that thing is no joke to climb. 50+ feet for the jump off the top into the pool too!
