    hi

I have a HID issue that involved my 3rd gen Tacoma driver side low beams(my headlamps are retrofitted with @kustom54lighting ) turning on and after 10sec to 1min noticing it start to flicker then turning off completely but my passenger doesn't have any issue. I've change my relays thinking that was the problem, then I made sure it wasn't the ballast as well. I notice @TRS has a antiflickering harness but not sure if that would solve the problem? any advice would be awesome it been driving me nuts

I gave up on HID’s because they kept flickering and cutting out. I think that the cheap Chinese units aren’t worth the trouble. Not sure what kustom54 uses but I’d look at the ballast again as I found that switching ballasts was the only thing that worked for me.

Interesting. My cheap Chinese lights are going on to 4 years and no issues. $75 direct from China

My mom has a Lexus RX350 and her lights flicker sometimes. We ended up solving the issue, we found out her lights were draining the hell out of her battery (not sure how since they were oem bulbs)

Are you running stock housings? There is a thread with lots of research showing halogens are better option. I went from a $150 HID kit to $30 halogen bulbs FWIW.

I could but.... i tested them by switching sides with each other and they work. I starting to believe that its not getting enough power to keep both ballast running
No @kustom54lighting provided me with a HID kit with relays with the headlamps that they made. My lights always flicker supposedly according to my coworkers. I come to be believe its a power issue. Doing more testing tomorrow.

It might be the harness, I had issues with the included harness and switched to a DDM tuning heavy duty harness and the issues were solved.

What's it set up like? Are the lights and ballast connected directly to the trucks wiring? or are there wires ran from the battery?

Ballast are connected to the battery through a relay, the original headlight harness triggers the relay.

I had a problem with mine where they would flicker and then every once in a while I would go out to the truck and one headlight would be on even though they were switched off. I had to replace the harness that goes to the battery and they've been fine since
