Haha. Well been a little rough after a drive. The trucks a bit heavy when loaded down.

Actually just checked and I installed the BBK in December of 2018. Finally about to replace the front pads. they've lasted pretty good and have felt great in all this time.

I've put maybe 25-30k miles on these BBKs and the rotors (vented, non-drilled/slot) are toast. I have a set of HPS pads to replace the supplied Stoptechs but haven't decided on the replacement brake rotor (Centric vs non-centric brand). Just out of curiousity, anyone have any better luck with another 340mm rotor versus the one that came with the kit?

It's worth it unless you drive slow and never carry any weight.

Yep. I almost hit someone that cut me off when I had my 1st gen loaded up on stock brakes. I did the Tundra upgrade then and it was night and day difference and was able to stop when idiots were around.

You guys still recommend the StopTechs? Just recently found out Wilwood makes a kit too.. but I'd rather get the plain, one piece rotors from StopTech... But with the rotor comments.. now idk.

Truck is heavy and jumping to 35s. I can already feel the need for better, more specifically, larger brakes. My EBC setup isnt cutting it anymore.

Don’t you have to adjust them and it’s a pain in the butt to do as well? That’s what I thought I read on here once. I rock stoptech and haven’t looked back.

Calipers just arrived and look great! Silver (special order) took some time to ship due to COVID, but it was expected. Tom was a pleasure to work with!

Hope they work as great as they look

Best advice that I can give you, is to wedge the brake pedal to the floor, before un-bolting the brake lines. That will help prevent a larger brake bleeding issue from air intrusion.

Won’t that spray fluid everywhere and fully extend the pistons of the outgoing calipers? Am I oblivious to a joke here?

Not a joke. I left the aspects which I considered obvious out.

Clearly you'd want to catch the fluid from the brake bleeder. This can be done before or after removing the caliper. Preferably before. there will be no pressure on the pots, it will still be easy to remove off of the rotor.

I see. So how does that stop air intrusion better than leaving the pedal in a neutral position?

Closes the valve. Basically like when doing the two person brake bleed process.

Doesn't mean to wait two weeks to get it done, but it helps.
