As a former STi owner of 8 years let me give some advice: don't try to compare the two. Welcome to the club

Nice! Can’t wait to see it with kings, SCS wheels, and a bedrack with a tent!

Congrats! I did the same back in 2016. Went from STI to Taco. Do not compare the 2. Different animals. Love them both in their own ways.

Ya.... well I mean, if anyone has eyeballs there is basically no other alternative. It's only this gen3 and the ford raptor that make you drool. Even if some other suv/truck has a better powertrain/value it's offset by how sad it looks.

I'm usually not one to even buy new cars or be taken in by off road marketing BS surrounding the taco. I've been building (roll cages, suspensions...) and abusing prerunner 4wd and 2wd trucks (rangers, gen1 tacos, jeep xj's, tundras) for a while now. I've never through the taco was a good value for building into an off road vehicle because they sell for so much used. The only good thing about them is really just the powertrain. When the gen2 came out in 2005 I totally gave up because how ugly the truck looked.
But thennnnnnn...I saw the gen 3 for the first time in 2016 and it was like a jedi mind trick . I was like "I want that right now". I'm fully aware of the fragile suspension mounts, fragile spindle , minivan motor and tinny steering rack on the Gen3. Don't care, truck looks cool. I would even buy another gen3.

Why not just buy another car? That's my point
