Last year I shot a doe and couldn’t find it after 12 hours of looking. the quick version is I think I got a gut shot or liver but couldn’t find the arrow since it wasn’t a full pass through. Not a drop of blood for about 300 yards. I waited 4 hours before going for it and I still bumped it I think. I found the blood down a trail that I guessed it would be on based on direction and a path of least resistance. If that arrow is fully covered in blood, I wouldn’t think you could pass through the brisket without finding blood on the ground somewhere, let alone missing the bone in the chest. Take it slow, guess which way he went, look for tracks. If all else fails, grid search. I bet you’ll find it. But I might be the only one.

Yea lot of folks saying it probably wasn’t a fatal shot. That looks like a lot of blood to me.. I’d put $20 on they find it tomorrow

Kinda looks like bubbles on that vane in the pictures and it has a good blood color. I'd say he may have had a high lung shot. High lung will give good blood on arrow but no blood trail while the lungs fill up sometimes.

I have had some double lungs and had deer spin in circles and run off funny. I wouldn't worry about the zig zaging to much.

I saw a buck following a doe this morning. I can’t get them to come over. Mid hunt, I moved my blind about 40 yards south closer to where I saw them come up at. I’d be willing to bet they pass right by where my blind was previously. I need a bit of motivation right now. Every weekend out so far since opening and haven’t even taken a shot.

Nuff said, I’ll just keep sitting and scrolling through YouTube for 8 hours a day. Maybe I just need something better to do while I wait

Finished up my archery season today by filling my bonus buck tag. 9pt came in at 7:15 tailing two does. Had about a 30yrd shot through a small opening in thick brush. Hit a little far back and clipped the femoral.

Dad shot this 3pt about 15 minutes later.
