My truck is about to hit 200,000 miles. Is there anything I should be looking for in “possible failure department” at this point?

    Still thinking about it.
Hi and welcome! I’m no Toyota expert but I’ll say... No worries. It totally depends on variables that vary depending on how the truck is used.

For example mine is always muddy and or frozen, filthy in and out and soon will be a plow truck too! Hauling heavy stuff and trailers and running in 4wd for days at a time at highway speed. That’s a lot different than the life of a suburban commuter truck. So 200k will be a different milestone as well.

Thanks guys! Live in rural West Virginia and put a lot of rough road and highway miles on my truck. But, my goal is to keep this baby well serviced and push into its fifteenth year running strong. Go Taco!

My buddy ran his 2003 to almost 400,000 and nothing but basic brakes, etc. maybe water pump, I’m not sure on that but I know it’s still going strong around town. His is a big inspiration as to why I bought mine.

Frame Rusting out if you live in a snowy area where they salt the roads, worn suspension especially check the ball joints and make sure that basic maintenance like fluid changes get done. If you do the preventative maintenance on these and keep the rust at bay there’s not much that can kill them
