I had a local guy install my UCA, Bilstein setup front and rear plus an AAL for $400 flat while I was still in Cali. If you want to save money you can find a way.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
That’s crazy, it’s basically an hour per side for a shop to do it.
I had my Icons installed, 2 hours shop time plus alignment. $120 Cdn/hour shop rate.
Go to a real Offroad shop to get stuff installed.

Can’t believe how out of touch everybody is here for an enthusiast site.

Dealerships and the vast majority of independent shops work on flat rate book time. It’s how they make money, and it’s how they pay their technicians. If you want the $200 price, shop around. Otherwise, book says it’s 5 hrs of work and that’s what they’ll charge you. If the tech finishes in 45 minutes, it’s irrelevant.

Shop around or pay a premium at the dealer with a typically higher hourly rate than independent shops.

Call it robbery if you want, but have a basic understanding of how business works.

It's not 5 hours book time, thats the issue. I work at a dealer and recently quoted these. The dealer is out of touch, not TW.

5 hrs was a random number.

People are confused by the fact that just because Bob next door did it in 45 min per side on his truck that any shop that quotes longer than 90 min is a rip off. It isn’t. If you can DIY alone or with friends then do so. If not, free market. Find somewhere you can afford.
