Finished up my wheels last night & had the Toyo RT’s mounted today. Decided to go a little smaller this time 265/75/16’s.

 

any lift? I see red UCAs

2/1” lift with Toytec coilovers & shocks with a 1” block.

 

looks great! How easy does the back sag when there’s a load on? I have an AC with a topper and wondering if I should go 1” or 1.5” in the rear

 

Are you wanting rake or level with a shell?

I have a SnugTop Rebel (ACLB) and went with a Headstrong 3-leaf AAL and I got 1.5"~ of lift to pair with 1.5"~ of lift on the front, allowing me to keep my rake when empty, but level when there's stuff in the bed. I think it handles the weight well.

Our leaf packs suck, so I wouldn't really recommend using a block to lift if you're running a shell, especially if you plan to put stuff back there frequently.

 

Torn between Toytec spacer lift and Bilstein 5100. I won’t be doing any off roading, just want to lift up the vehicle a bit without shelling out on too much. Had high end suspension components on my FJ and I never used them to their full extent, figured the Tacoma won’t really do anything more challenging. I’m trying to level the truck since I don’t tow much.

 

It’s going to sag the same way as the stock setup, it just moved the leafs down 1”. Heading home from the tire place with the 4 oem wheels and tires in the back, probably dropped 1”, a bit surprised it wasn’t more.

I ran the semi-same setup on my 2019 SR 2.7, with a topper and it was perfect with a 1” block. The 2021 SR V6 is close to level without a load ?


There’s also a 1” BL on that truck, but it’s still a coilover setup with a 1” block. Tires were 285/70/17.

That looks just right. It seems like 2” in front with 1” block in the rear is the magic number. I’d like to throw down $$$ for high end stuff but to be honest. The roughest roads I face are pothole in ATL lol

 

It all depends on what your budget is, really. I've driven a Bilstein 5100 shod 3rd gen and it rode really nice. I spent $1200~ altogether on my suspension and I've been really happy with it's on and off road performance.

After seeing what my leaf springs were doing when I went to install my AAL's, I'm not a fan of the idea of blocks, but that's just me.

It's not listed on their website, but Westcott Designs makes an interesting kit which they just expanded to the standard Tacoma suspension. It's a different take on the spacer kit that doesn't f&$* your suspension's geometry. Most customers I've read about who have it rave about the ride (basically that it maintains the stock ride behavior). I'd say find some TRD OR Bilstein take-offs and combine them with the Westcott kit to get the lift and performance for minimum investment. They do a block lift in the rear.

EDIT: Then again, doing the math on that (~$400 for Westcott kit and ~$200 for Bilstein take-offs) puts you right at Eibach Pro Truck lift kit pricing.

So maybe consider the Eibach kit, seems like it'll suit the price/performance you're looking for.

EDIT2: Only potential issue with the Eibach kit is that it's rated at 2" of lift... but that's likely for the V6's. I4's are lighter, so you might end up with more which would likely require an UCA.

The SX seemed like the best bang for the buck to me. I have owned 2nd Gen OR and Sports in past and honestly can’t/couldn’t justify the difference in price again.

Where did you purchase the bezels for your fog lamps? I just purchased all of the other required parts for the install, but i don’t want to pay $60 for each bezel from Toyota

My '17 2.7L has 16,000 on it --- and still runs like new.
Seriously though, I have no problem believeing 400K maintenance free miles with these guys. Couldn't be happier with my choice. Hope yours continues doing so great!

Hit 2000 miles this week. So far the truck runs like a dream. Couldn’t be happier. Fog Lights going on next week, wheels and tires to follow. Can’t wait!

 

Has anyone installed OEM bed lights on 3rd gen? I don’t have the pop out cover for them so I doubt that they are pre-wired but was hoping someone has installed them that could give some advice before buying everything.

 

I have the 2020 SR V6 DBL CAB and when I popped out the break lights it has prewired clamped on the side.
