    Hello, I have a 2007 tacoma
I love my truck but it has lost its mind lately.
It first started about 230,000 miles a head light blew out, and it did every couple weeks after that.
Then in the dead heat of the Texas summer the ac melted the wiring . It’s replaced and works fine.
Then out of the blue I walk into the store come back out and my truck doors won’t unlock with the keyless entry I replaced the batteries still no work.
The key wouldn’t even unlock it.
I call a locksmith he unlocks the truck and the Alarms go off I get it to stop.
I go home the battery dies. It’s not dead . I open the truck up the Alarms go off I mess with it and get them to stop . I have not been able to drive the truck since I brought it home. The batery dies the alarms go off . New battery . But nothing helpes. Am I missing something?

Aftermarket alarm blues. The aftermarket alarm has a starter interupt. That's why it won't start. I'm guessing you have an aftermarket alarm key fob. That's why the fob wouldn't unlock the doors. More aftermarket alarm troubles. As for the key not unlocking the door, that's a separate problem. You rely on the keyless entry so much you never checked the key lock.

Truck is fine. Just acting like a cat trying to hack a hairball, which in truck terms is an aftermarket alarm.

    Ditch it.

Then lube or repair the locks so they work manually when you need them too.

Are the headlights stock, or some 'upgrade'?

Was the AC wiring related to the blower under dash. Sad, but common, cheap/easy fix.

    Still thinking about it.
Bummer. I bet those guys are right though. Maybe poorly installed alarm causing wiring troubles? Or it’s electronics are faulty and it’s malfunctioning (the alarm I mean).

    Good luck!

Look under the dash driver's side above the kick panel/steering column. You will likely find the alarm module with the wiring harness attached to it. Remove it and reconnect any spliced factory wires.

    Welcome.

I'm with these guys, in thinking there may be an aftermarket alarm issue.

However, what all aftermarket electronic accessories does your truck have?
