Round 2 with Karen. Gonna double check the new dust seals on the driver side and get it put back together, then drop the front skid plate and get the spindle loosened up so the spindle and axle are ready to be removed so I can press the cv out of the hub. Good thing I have 2 spare CVs in case it gets messed up and then look into a new master cylinder probably

 

Well today was actually a good day. Took the driver side apart again because the new dust seal on the axle wasn't seated right and got that squared away and got the passenger side ready for the removal of the cv and spindle out as one unit so I can press the axle out of the hub. What I did wrong was I was missing an additional dust shield that went behind the hub so that's what wore out the hubs so quickly and I think dirt and some other debris worked their way into the splines somehow which is why the axle isn't wanting let go of the hub I'm guessing. I'm gonna start triple checking everything I do from now on instead of double checking

 

Finally got the axle off the hub. Went and rented a puller, wish I did that Saturday. Got the spindle cleaned up and got the new seals on the axle, got them wrapped in plastic because I'm calling it a night so I don't want any dirt falling on them. When I pulled my ABS sensor off the spindle so I could clean it it was caked in shit so I'm kinda thinking that's why my brake pedal may have been acting up (hopefully). Goals for tomorrow is fix my garage door and start putting the truck back together, still need to clean the caliper up a bit but I'll do that tomorrow

 

Hope that floor jack ain't the only thing holding the truck up

 

Oh God no. It's actually on a jack stand. I always leave the jack under there like that if I can for extra security

Karen is drivable again! Brakes are working fine so they must have been acting up due to the fact that my ABS sensors were COVERED in grime. Just need to get new hardware for the front skid plate tomorrow

 

Started my winter maintenance, took the skids and sliders off so I can wire wheel them and repaint them since I'm done wheeling (maybe) for the rest of year. Also gonna change the diff fluids and t-case fluid and flush the cooling system in the next month or two. Need to start working on my dad's truck since I've been avoiding it the past 4 weeks. Then I get to help take apart the top end of my buddy's 1st gen because I'm guessing we botched something when we were replacing the headgaskets and now the passenger side head is leaking and getting pretty bad. And also wire wheeling sucks
