Not sure how I feel about what I did, but I did do it.

Parked the Tacoma in the garage & parked the RV in front of the garage door.
So it's buried. Out of the weather. It needs the oil pan changed & I just don't want to spend the money on it now.

    hmmm....

Think I’m just going to bite the bullet and have my mechanic fix it. They have all the tools and know how. I would rather spend the money than deal with the endless frustration.

Got the warning as well for us (Brookfield). Lights haven't flickered... yet.

Lots of wind, and a lot of rain just a few minutes ago.

Looks like it's making its way across the state, over to RI.

Pretty sporty last night. Had some 70mph gusts and saw a lot of blue flashes. Lost power at 8:15 and was back on at 1.
Didn't get to use the new generator.

I was watching all the pretty blue flashes when it came thru.

My lazy neighbor in the back has a little mess. 85ft oak let go.
Most of those big oaks are hollow like a bongo drum.
    Oh well...

That’s my fear. I have the mother of all oaks in my front yard. I went to measure the circumference with my 12’ tape and ran out of tape... it’s a bit over 18’ around.

Over the years I've lived here, I had all the big pig trees removed. Anything that can do major house damage, and there was a bunch.
Mostly rotted oaks and damaged triple crowned pines.
The last was 2 years ago, an 80ft Black Gum. Waited years to cut it, but it had to go. Too big and too close.

    85ft Black Gum.
Beautiful tree, but could have taken out the house and more.

I can’t cut down the oak. Uncle Henry built this house on this particular lot because of that tree. He loved it. If I cut it down, the house will probably get noisy... I’m having the leaders removed they begin to die off. The bigger PIA are the hickory trees. I hate them - the damn nut casings kill the grass and are ammo for the tree rats. I swear they try to hit you if you’re under the tree.

    Good morning CT.
Lotta wind, some flickers, but otherwise no big. But I haven't gone outside yet, so... :fingerscrossed:

You all are talking my language with the trees. They do belong in the forest, or woods further away than the tallest tree.
Like I've said, I just finished having everything w/in striking distance of the house removed a couple months back. Makes storms so much less worrisome.

Was on the cellular phone on Sunday - out back in my newly treeless field at that one "don't move" perfect reception spot. Was looking at my 4 remaining trees, every single one of them has broken branches on them up high. Gotta think on them, cutting 'em down gets expensive, especially if they won't be falling on any buildings. .... fix Taco first I think.
If a tree falls on nothing, addressing it is cheaper.
