    I've looked around a bit and am wondering if there is a way to get the inside cab lights to turn on when opening a door? 2007 dbl tacoma V6

    The dome light? Let's start with the basics. Are you sure this switch is in the position marked "door"?

    There is, you de-pin the terminals from the power and ground connector to map lights and switch their positions. Then you add a terminal and wire to the empty slot (it's a 3 position connector)

    the other end of that added wire you make it long enough to reach the overhead lamp. Crimp a ring terminal to that wire. On the overhead console you'll be adding a small bolt, washer and nut to hold that ring terminal. This bolt goes through a hollow rivet where the lamp holder tangs are. (On the Negative side) Insulate the top of the nut so it doesn't touch the metal roof.

    sorry I'm a little new to electrical, so you're saying the wires (power and ground) going the lights are connected with a 3 pin connector and I have to switch their ports then add a terminal to the third port? What do you mean by a terminal, a switch like one to automatically turn on the lights when the doors are open?

    Terminal = pin
    It's a 090/2.3II type female. Toyota sells them with a short wire already attached.
    This added wire with pin is what gets the map lights to work in parallel to the overhead lamp switch.
    If it's on DOOR then they both turn on when unlock and doors are open.
    If switch to ON then both are ON.
    If OFF you still can turn map lights ON with their own switch.

    If you don't want to de-pin the connector you could purchase a mating pair and add the wires (crossed) with the terminals.
