The transmission in my 2001 toyota tacoma sr5 quit so I bought a trans from a 2001 4runner sr5 and everything is the same but my tacoma trans has manual kick down and the 4runner trans has electronic but has a spot for manual kickdown cable... I switched the valve body out and electronic harness out of my tacoma trans into 4runner trans and everything lined up will this work??

@BartMaster1234 Praise jesus I had everything swapped over already before asking that question I just wasnt sure if that was gonna work I just assumed it would since there was a place for a manual kickdown on the 4runner trans it just had a removable plug in it.. So I'm gonna put the 4runner trans in my tacoma tomorrow and see how everything goes thanks everyone

I suppose the only thing you can do is test it out. If it doesn't work - start diagnosing problems.

Well good news guys I finished the swap and the trans from a 01 4 runner worked in my 2001 tacoma..and like myself and others have said in previous comments for it to work all i had to do was change the valve body bc of my truck having a manual kickdown and 4runner having an electronic kickdown

Can you elaborate on how you swapped the valve body, where you got it from, and how difficult it was?
