    No, lol
No way. I live in East Tennessee.

Between TVA, EPA, and the Army Corps Of engineers, you don’t stand a change of “altering” any body
of water or the path in which it flows. Even getting a driveway permit OVER a creek is a BIG ordeal.
The pathway and flow can’t be altered in ANY way.

    Oil....lol.
First off I wouldn’t. I’m an avid fisherman.
And second, I don’t have enough money to pay those fines.

Toyota Tech Tip T-TT-0262-13 lists models where 0W20 could be used and the intervals therein. Latest rev filed with the NHTSA is rev4, dated April 2015: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/MC-10111400-9999.pdf 0W20 remains unapproved for the 1GR-FE in the Tacoma.

Take note of the Tundra, where the 2010 model is singled out for not being approved for 0W20, while the 2011-2015 models are OK. The Tundra switched to the dual-VVTi version of the 1GR-FE in 2011.

The dual-VVTi 1GR-FE used in the 2010+ FJ, 2010+ 4Runner, and 2011+ Tundra can use 0W20, apparently because of changes in the water jacket that resulted in more uniform temps around the cylinders: https://australiancar.reviews/1GR-FE-engine.php

Based on the above, Toyota deems your engine runs too hot for 0W20 to maintain sufficient viscosity. I would change out the oil to 5W30 if engine durability is a concern (may or may not be a concern depending on the condition of the rest of the 14-year old truck).
