Yeah, that Karr alarm system is installed but I didn't activate it. Sounds like they use it on all their cars. They didn't even try and sell it to me. I'm considering getting under there and pulling the whole thing out and fixing whatever wires need to be respliced. Do you have it too? Little button down by the hood release. Have you done anything about it?

Charging a large amount on your credit card will drop your credit score significantly.

I have the same thing, right next to the hood release. Thought about pulling it and fixing the wires, but haven't yet. Probably will if I have anything that seems like a hint of an electrical issue.

Regardless of what you negotiate, I have had dealers outright lie, in writing, about a deal. Typically, they are the furthest from me. When I get there, the deal is no longer 'valid'. It was a 'mistake'. Typical shenanigans - and they want to renegotiate. Be prepared for that, and to drive 2 hours back with nothing. Some of them are slimier than an eel.

I was prepared for shenanigans. I was mentally prepared to drive home in my wife's car if it didn't work out. There was none of that in my case, and I drove a Tacoma home.

I've heard from a former car salesman YouTube channel some tricks the dealers do. Never tell them if you are paying cash or already have a pre-approved loan.

The dealers will give you a super low price first, then when you go into financing they start tacking on a bunch of fees to make up for the difference. If you tell them you're paying cash up front, they'll give you a higher price from the get go because they know you won't finance with them.

So their strategy is to press you on how you will play early on. Just tell them you don't want to talk about payment with anyone other then the actual finance guy at the end. The salesmen didn't need to know that information anyways.

Good luck. Hope you get the best deal.

When I bought my sport in 2018, I got a few OTD prices from around the Bay area. Freeman beat every one of them. I tried to negotiate and the salesman (Mike) said to me "our prices are the best aren't they?" He also pointed out that they sell more Tacomas then anyone else in the Bay area. I paid asking.
