Any woodworkers?

I like them a lot, I bought the easy start set of three. They were just to small for bowls.
So I got these. I am really happy with these.

I want to buy the traditional high speed steel kind and a slow speed grinder.

 

There is a old box I made last year.

 

I bought the full size EWT finish cutter. I have a full set of Crown HSS turning tools. They are nice, I’ve had them for about 15 years.

 

Try a drill press. Grab some wooden dowels different sizes to fit the curves and wrap em with sandpaper. Chuck em in the press and have at it I use this for a lot of inside curves makes quick work

 

Finished my dvd shelves. 2 of them each about 2' wide and 7.5' tall.

All made from leftovers/scraps or 1 off pieces of wood I've had for years that wasn't really enough material for other projects that came up. The long skinny mahogany has been sitting here 9 years at least. I hate wasting materials, even if it's just plywood.

First time that i haven't faced the edges of plywood with real wood. Did 2 coats clear, painted edges with 2 coats of "milk paint", then 2 more coats of clear.

Kinda wish i had taped next to edges instead of free hand painting. Brush wrapped over edge in some places. But, for what it is, I'm happy with the results.

Some times simple is better IMO

 

NO! Always and I mean ALWAYS over complicate and over do your projects even though no one will ever notice

how else can you justify the time and money spent on all the tools haha

Solid walnut, some reclaimed walnut, some new walnut, and a green walnut bowl blank base.
The magnet turns it on and off and opens the door.

Hello guys ! I have been lurking here on and off for a while and have seen some beautiful work posted . I would be embarrassed to show the work I have done over the past 30 years as compared to what you all have done as what I made was more of needed upgrades to my first house and now retirement house rather than heirlooms like I have seen here . Anyhow , I am retired and now have the time and some means to do better ,and want to make some keepsakes for family and at the same time I still do not always feel more money is better as far as tools are concerned if they are for home use as compared to a business .
I should have asked before I pulled the trigger but I just bought a certified reconditioned Bosch 1617EVS router . I have not received it yet and can return it in 30 days for free if i choose . What do you all think of it ? ( I have an old Ryobi RE600 plunge router mounted under an extended table saw table also ) .
Also , any advise on a 35 piece set of carbide router bits on Ebay like this ? Are they any good ?
I will not be using anything every day .

I would be very wary of a set of bits that cost only $1.50 each.
Btw, I have the same router you have and it's been great for many years.

 

X2. Forstner bit maybe ok, router bits pay for better ones

 

I have the same router, and good bits are worth it, just buy a few to start with, then just get what you want.

 

Yup, just buy what you need, when you need it.

 

I spent a day searching what collet will fit the RE600 . From What I find is that the Bosch 1617 will fit it . Otherwise , a replacement for the Ryobi is discontinued . Anyway , I think it is a 19mm x 1mm threaded collet ? Any help ?

 

I have no idea on that one. I can look to see if I still have the manual when I get home.
