I have 125,000 miles on my 2015 TRD Sport. I've been getting a very LIGHT whiff of coolant as I walk past the front of the truck after it's at operating temp. No sign of leaks and no head gasket leak per an oil analysis so I determined the smell is the overflow bottle.

It was low so I topped it off and goofed. I grabbed a bottle of Peak OEM pink which I thought was for ASIAN vehicles. I believe this is an OAT as opposed to a HOAT in my truck. My original coolant was pink. Did I do any harm by adding this to the overflow?

    Thanks!

I believe a flush is due at 100K. Check your maintenance schedule to be sure. If you haven't done so, now would be a good time to replace the OEM coolant. I don't think a little oat will do any lasting damage to your coolant.

Have you closely examined the weep hole on the bottom of the water pump?

If you are worried about the coolant in the Over Flow tank.
I believe there is a drain cap on the bottom.
Drain it, refill it with what you like.

Just pull the plug on the overflow reservoir and fill it with some Valvoline Zerex pink from Walmart. Premixed, P-HOAT formula. Only $13. Perfect match for Toyota SLLC

Also....a slight wiff of coolant now and then isn't abnormal. Happens to me too....and always has

Bottom side of the pump housing between the impeller seal and the outer shaft seal.
