lol at when "made in usa" meant quality...nope not anymore...you'll spend as much on jap parts but get shit quality...hate to knock on "YOU ESS AEY!" but have to when it comes to my wallet and quality. hell harley's claim "made in usa" but I wouldn't trade my shadow for a harley...well I might but only to sell the pure pos harley and buy a newer bigger engine jap motorcycle (1100 cc's NOT ENOUGH!!!). The WORST shadow is the one that mimicks the harley build quality LOL even has less power than my vtc1100. Any vehicle I buy is japanese built and any parts I buy are japanese made parts...truck was put together in the usa but the parts all came from japan. I mean come on...even japanese porn vs us porn...even the jap porn wins hands downs...and up...and down...ifykwim heh heh

This was my solution for camping and long range trips. Two five gallons water cans under the toolbox, two five gallon jerry cans for fuel standing up. A ratchet strap keeps them from moving around, and I have a D ring bolted through the toolbox with a bike lock wound through the handles to keep them from walking off.

Scepter MFC military Fuel Jugs. 15 Gal Total. These things are indestructible as i used them a lot in the marine corps infantry. (Always strapped to the back of the HUMVEES). In my bed year round for the most part. They will expand during the heat of summer but will never explode or rupture. Cycle the fuel out couple months or so. Stored with Stabil. Added about 100lbs but ride quality over bumps at highway speeds are better / more controlled. (Rear of trucks are lighter so you know what i mean when it wobbles over bumps and higher speeds). Running out of fuel is always been my OCD. So this was my always prepared solution.

    Where did you get them?

I guess I never seen flat ones like that.

I just have the rounds ones and of course plenty of flat ratchet straps

Out mother efing standing leatherneck. I love it. We did the exact same thing on my HUMVEES and our LMTV's during patrols in Baghdad. Now you got me thinking about adding a jerry can or two as well. Hooah !/Oorah !

Awesome and hell yeah! Yeah these jugs will last more than i lifetime. There is a method to replace the component on the cap to a aluminum one to ever better its durability. Feel free to PM me if you wanna know how to get these. These jugs are hard to come by on US consumer market. Long story short, theres a seller on eBay that offers used ones and you gotta but the flange/seal for the cap separately

My Scout had dual tanks. I'd love to find an option for a 2nd tank in the 3rd gen spare area in stead of Taco xtra-Lean.

I am looking this up because these trucks get such crap mileage when you’re towing I have literally barely made it from one town to the next twice today and I mean barely like less than a gallon left. I don’t care how much the dog gone tank costs. I guarantee it’s cheaper than towing a truck and a trailer off the highway because it’s out of gas, even one time. This is an annoying unnecessary problem
