on board air "finished"

Finally got this done..
Air zenith compressor, arb locker.
1.5 gallon air tank mounted under bed,
Air locker and compressor switch are in the cab.
Compressor shuts off at 150psi, so I have a regulator for the locker to get it down to about 90 psi. ( You can sort of see it in the pic)
Right now I only have one port for airing tires, located next to the compressor

 

Nice work. I have a ARB twin compressor that I have yet to mount because I am deciding on whether i need a tank as well. I haven't done too much research for pricing...if you don't mind, how much was the tank and any necessary fittings/etc.

 

Very nice. I don't have a locker, but OBA would be a nice thing to have.

Aside for the obvious benefits, my twisted mind has come up with a couple of..... For lack of a better term,"adventurous," uses for it as well.
Guaranteed to cause trouble in the wrong hands.

That's the tank I bought. Most of the fittings came from home depot, and the 1/4" air line came from my local freightliner dealer, but that stuff is cheap online.

I think the tank is a no brainier... I bolted mine to the underside of the bed, so far so good. Next project is air bags. I'll post a link to the switches in a bit...

These guys sell both switches, I'm sure they've been posted 100's of times in here, lol. Perfect fit, good quality.
The only issue is the light doesn't dim with the rest of my dash lights. Something I did I'm sure...

 

The ports on the tank were not threaded very well. I had to tap all of them out. I'd plan on the same issue if you go with that tank. 1.5 gallon is a perfect fit for under the bed though.
I'm still chasing a couple of very small and very annoying leaks...

 

Silly question... Do any of you with tanks have check valves between the tank and the compressor? I imagine it would be nice for the compressor to be able to sit unloaded for a while. Just a thought it popped into my head so I thought I would ask.

If you do a check valve, I'd also install a ball valve after the check valve and a T in front of it for a normally open solenoid valve. Wired with the compressor the solenoid valve will close and open every time the compressor turns on and off respectively. Unloading the compressor. The valve behind the check valve I would put there just so that you can remove everything in front of it without losing the air you already have in the tank.

Btw, I went with the expedition essentials mounting box, it's awesome, but as they say, make sure you have a second pair of hands!
If I had it to do over again I'd probably go with the arb twin compressor. The AZ is heavy, I worry about long term durability on the mount because of the fiberglass bed. Also, if anyone does the tank mount like I did (Right rear under the bed) plan accordingly...
I had to cut a rib off the bottom of the fiberglass bed to make it fit.
If I had it to do over I'd probably move it slightly closer to the tire and drop it down a bit.
