I’m prepping to weld mine on and have a question about alignment across the frame rails. 2005 DCSB.

Is there an ideal alignment along the frame rails? For example. Equi-distant from the front and rear wheels to end of the sliders. Or closer to the rear? Closer to the front? I'm leaning towards the kickout being closer to the rear, leaving more of a gap in the front. Or am simply over-thinking it? Line it up in a way that looks right, mark, clean, tack and weld.

Also, I'm going to set the height of the plates so I have roughly 1" from the slider tube to the body. Does that sound right?

The 2nd plate in the pic is the third plate front to back, and there are a few bolts in the frame I need to work around. So I’m either behind the bolt, pushed further back towards the rear tire or in front of that bolt pushed closer to the front tire. Equi-distant is not an option unless I do something with those bolts.

I am trying to get this sorted before clearing the paint and welding up Monday.
    THANKS!
