What is up with these lead times? I ordered front and rear HC bumpers in August and now they are telling me first of December?

Website says 10-12 weeks (at least it did when I ordered) which I was ok with but going on 4 months? What takes so long to fab up bumpers? Or, is the backlog so enormous that it takes that long in the waiting list to start fabrication? If so, step up CBI and hire a couple more guys and increase your production!

A friend owns Rock Slide Engineering and they produce multiple bumpers, rock sliders, etc. per day and typically have stock on the shelves.

Seems outrageous to wait so long for something that I’m guessing is CNC cut and bent...welding and powder coat surely can’t take more than a few weeks to complete.

    Frustrated!

That's par for the course with the armor industry. There are so many things in the chain of events that can go wrong and a single hold up can set them back weeks. To go from a quoted 10-12 out to 16 isn't outrageous by any means. Just try and be patient, I promise it's worth it for quality.

Just chill out. COVID has screwed up the entire supply chain for many companies. It took over 6 months for my new Tacoma TRD OR AC to arrive at my dealership.

I know...seems like all the armor companies have lead times like this but honestly, it’s sheet steel and welding...what could go wrong in the supply chain or fabrication process. There not building the next space shuttle.

I know the quality is there I’m just surprised they have that long of a lead time or back log. As a small business owner, if I was backlogged like that, I’d figure a way to increase production and thus profits.

All Pro seems to be the outlier that maintains stock of their Taco armor. Most of the Jeep guys either have stock or have much shorter lead times. I’m somewhat new to the Toyota world so just curious why this is the case with Taco armor?
