I finally got my engine all re-installed and everything hooked up and running again the end of last week. Took it for a nice 45 minute ride on Sunday and then had to sneak out for a ride around the neighborhood again yesterday. Damn weather is supposed to be rain for the next 2 weeks though. Can't for some decent weather where I can actually get out and start to build some confidence on longer rides.

I pay 6 bucks a month per bike. Not too bad, but my bikes are not worth much and my kymco can’t get full coverage because there is no way to get all the parts to fix it if it went down.

I carry full coverage on everything but my 2005 Kymco, and my 2001 B5 S4.... cause that boy hasn’t run in 8 years now. Really need to get on fixing that.

I bought a V&H exhaust for my Grom. Haven't installed it but the workmanship is quality as far as I can tell through a cursory inspection of the parts.

I got curious and weighed the CT90 yesterday: 170lbs w/o fuel but w/ oil. She weighs less than I expected!

Bought the V&H exhaust, Blaster X integrated tail light, and a TST fender eliminator... None of which has been installed.

Will do. Might be a week or two as I'm contemplating having the exhaust power/ceramic/etc. coated black to match the rest of the bike.

    None... yet.
I rode the other morning (not quite as cold... 30 or so) and said the same thing to myself. Of course, my commute is only 5 miles... lol.

    New Ape Hanger bars ordered.
    Plus wire extensions.
Will update with photos once they’re installed.
    Very excited for this.

Still debating on which seat to snag... dynamite is pretty straight forward with options.....whiplash.. has some pretty cool custom options.

Idk if I’m going single or double seat again.

    Also ?
anyone know where I can snag a black headlight trim for my FXBB ? I saw one on Harley but every review is shit. It’s the chrome ring around the headlight. Held on by a screw.

Tank decal removal/replace today. All the various chemicals I used to try and get the feed lines unclogged wore away a lot of the ink from the original decals. They weren’t in horrible shape but were definitely sun damaged.

Their age made them super brittle so they would just peel off. I wanted to limit damage to the paint as much as possible because I didn’t plan on repainting it. So I used a plastic scraper and a heat gun on low to slowly work the decal off. This left the adhesive residue behind.
    2DDFB64C-90F1-4F8E-9796-9A0B9D86C4FA.jpg

After that, I used Goof Off, paper towels and the plastic scraper to work the adhesive off slowly. The paint underneath was in really good shape but had some checking and the halo of the sticker was visible and totally expected.

You can also see the hazing on the paint in the light reflection.
    AFF3DB4C-2A06-453E-9B8B-F375083D38DD.jpg

To revive the paint I used the three products in succession on a foam pad on drill. I didn’t use my larger buffer because the size of the tank made the drill a better option.
    DF7C6B38-7380-4617-BA78-1BB46ADEDCD7.jpg

Here’s the paint after the three step process. Brought the color back to life and added some shine while removing minor surface scuffs and scratches.

    161D9036-3085-47DD-B9CC-A363D40057EA.jpg

I could’ve gone a bit longer and got it even better but I think this level of shine matches the condition of the rest of the bike. There are a few pits in the chrome and some surface rust here and there so I wanted the bike to look like what it was: a clean survivor.

New decals applied and I’m going to call this one done. I’ll ride it till something breaks and then I’ll think about upgrades.

Not bad at all considering what I started with a month ago:
