Good on you for getting an engine with low miles to put in there, sounds like you and your brother had no problems swapping the new engine in. Good job.

Milky oil can also be caused by water contamination. Probably the issue. You will find out for sure once you pull the heads off

Without even having looked further than your first picture on your first post, I already knew where this was going. It was clear as day, by the burnt oil all over the head, around the cams. Previous owner went far to long between oil changes.

Once I watched your video, then it was confirmed. By all of the caked on oil at the main caps and rod ends. Had a failure of my own on a used engine, due to the same lack of maintenance.

Hey guys I realize this post is old but...... I have a 3.0 3vz motor that I just pulled apart and it has the same thing wrong as this guy's. It spun a rod bearing and it looked just like his. I'm hoping to be able to take the crank to a mech.shop and have it turned and hopefully get an undersized bearing and maybe a new rod and get it going. I need to fix it on the cheap. As I am poor. No shit. So please don't say do a 3.4 swap . Cause for one , where I live you can't find a toyota part to save your life and sure can't find a good used motor. And plus I dont and can't come up with 1500 or so to do that. So I'm hoping to get the crank turned for about 60 bucks and hopefully have it back together for less than 500. But if I have to get a new crank then I see them on eBay for around 250 and I should be able to stay around that 500 mark by the time I get new bearings and gaskets. That's my hopes anyway! So anyone that has been through this and has rebuilt there motor , please let me know what you think and what I might run into. And no I don't care that the 3.0 don't have enough power to pull a wet noodle out of a dog's ass, as long as I can get it going and it will last a while that's fine with me.

Thank you Mr beerline123. And Mr Jimmy I'm in the Jonesboro AR area. And there are many salvage yards around here but there is not a toyota truck in any of them. If you find a wrecked one then someone has already brought it and they are parting it out for more than what a new one cost. People around here drive these trucks until they evaporate. No shit!! This is the first time that I pulled a motor and the first time that I have tried to rebuild one. But I'm determined to get it done. Shops around here don't rebuild anything anymore, they just tell you that you need a new motor or transmission or whatever and they just want to replace parts. And the only people that have experience in doing this kind of stuff around here are guys that have race cars and if it's not a race car they don't have time for it. So I guess I'm learning how to be a mechanic . But that's fine with me and it's keeping my mind busy so I'm not stressing about other stuff. I'm just hoping I can get a machine shop to turn my crank . If they will then I should be in ok shape. Luckily this is my old new backup truck. Well , it will be a backup if I can get it going. I've got a 98 4x4 taco that I got over a year ago and it had 209000 on it when I got it. But now it has 259000 on it and I'm having to drive 220 miles a day to work . And so I'm scared to death that it might go down before too long and I'll be sol and not be able to get to my job . So I sold a gun I had to come up with the money to get this 91 and I'm hoping to get it going to where I could drive it if something happens to my 98. So knock on wood, I could be worse off. So any and all help and prayers and toyota parts are welcome.
